Toronto Seniors Housing has affordable rental units available for singles and partners with lower incomes. Affordable rental units vary in size and rental rates. Affordable rental units are not rent-geared-to-income.
Subsidized housing
Rent-geared-to-income is sometimes referred to as subsidized rent or housing. About 95% of Toronto Seniors Housing tenants pay rent-geared-to-income. The rent you pay for rent-geared-to-income housing is about 30% of your net income. There is a waiting list for this type of housing. The waiting list is managed by the City of Toronto.
Toronto Seniors Housing is home to about 15,000 seniors living in communities across Toronto. Our housing portfolio includes 83 seniors-designated high-rise and low-rise apartment buildings.
