Rent-geared-to-income is sometimes referred to as subsidized rent or housing. About 95% of Toronto Seniors Housing tenants pay rent-geared-to-income. The rent you pay for rent-geared-to-income housing is about 30% of your net income. There is a waiting list for this type of housing. The waiting list is managed by the City of Toronto.
