Governance
Toronto Seniors Housing is incorporated under the Ontario Business Corporations Act, with the City of Toronto as its sole shareholder. We are governed by a Board of Directors appointed by Toronto City Council.
A Council-approved Shareholder Direction sets out the TSHC’s operating principles, mandate, the relationship between TSHC and the City, and other governance matters. On June 30, 2021, the Board of Directors enacted the Toronto Seniors Housing Corporation By-Law No. 1 which supports the efficient and effective management of the corporation. TSHC’s operations are funded in part through the City’s Housing Secretariat Division acting as Service Manager under the Housing Services Act, 2011.
