I am very pleased to announce that after a thorough search, we will be welcoming Deanna Veltri as the new permanent, full-time, Director of Engagement, Partnerships and Communications on April 10, 2025.
Deanna brings a wealth of experience in Canada’s public, private, and non-profit sectors. She has focused on the housing market, working with government bodies, development industries, and community housing non-profits. She has held leadership roles at Deloitte Canada, StrategyCorp, and Toronto Community Housing, focusing on affordable housing, policy improvement, and business strategy. She also has experience in employment services, education, health, and Indigenous affairs.
She brings her passion for housing to support underserved populations to this work. Deanna has a long list of professional affiliations, most notably as part of a network of affordable housing professionals. She holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from McGill University.
At TSHC, Deanna will lead our Communications and Programs and Partnerships teams, strengthening tenant engagement, building strategic partnerships, and ensuring clear, effective communication. In her work, Deanna has had a breadth of experience working with tenants, staff, boards and partners. She looks forward to continuing the great work that is already underway.
As we welcome Deanna, I want to graciously thank Arlene Howells for her leadership as Interim Director. Arlene played a key role in TSHC’s transition, leading communication and engagement efforts to establish the corporation. She has been instrumental in building partnerships that connect seniors housing with community supports. With over 30 years of experience in change management and communications, Arlene has provided invaluable guidance during this critical period. Arlene will continue to facilitate the strategic partnership work at TSHC on a part-time basis and will continue to report to me.
